A world class training centre for the country's Judo elite opened this year, paving
the way
for the sport to focus on future success.
The new Dartford Dojo, opened
by HRH The
Princess Royal on 23rd March 2006, is expected to become a key
coaching centre for
the British Judo Association in advance of the 2008 Beijing
Olympics and London 2012
Olympics.
Dartford Judo Club is the first purpose-built training centre to meet Olympic
training standards since London was chosen to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
Designed
to international standard specifications by Make architects show the Dojo, which is Japanese for ‘training place’, to be the finest purpose-built Judo centre in the
country, boasting two full-sized
mats, space for up to 400 spectators, and a fully
furbished weight training room.
Aside
from the sport, the centre also includes
seminar and meeting space, catering facilities and
a social area.
Dartford Judo Club
and the new venue is now open to Judo athletes of all
classes, and we look
forward to sharing what we have with you. |
